Day Eight-- March 18th, 2003

Ugh. I've never been so tired in my life. Today we had to get up super early so we could leave our hotel for 7am. Again our group was split into two flights, my flight being the later one, but everyone left the hotel at the same time to make things easier. So when we arrived at the airport, it was still too early for those on the later flight to check in so we all put our baggage down and napped on the floor of the Charles de Gaulle Airport. At about 10:30am, we checked in and then had to go in the super huge line-up for security and customs. We didn't get to the seats of our gate until about 11:30. While waiting til boarding time, we puttered around some of the shops and I bought a Coke. On the flight from Paris to Toronto we had two movies. There was "Stuck on You" and "As Good As It Gets". I only watched "As Good As It Gets". It was good and the dog that was in it was so cute. They also played an episode of "Ab Fab"! I was so happy, even though it was an episode I've already seen before (and I've only watched Ab Fab maybe twice). The food on this flight wasn't as good as the Toronto-London flight. But the pizza they served was pretty good. Upon arriving in Toronto it was go-go-go to get to our flight home. We got off the plane, picked up our luggage, went through customs (a long line again), changed terminals, dropped off our baggage, went through security once again and got to our gate just a few minutes after announcing boarding. We almost lost Kristie and some other people because they went ahead of the group after dropping off their baggage and started off to the wrong departures area. It was pretty bad. But they found us when we were at security. The flight back home from Toronto was uneventful. We found out that it was -5 degrees and possible chance of flurries back home (quite the drastic change coming from the 20 degree weather we experienced in Paris). Upon debarking the plane when we arrived, I almost cried when I saw the snow on the ground. In the arrivals area, I was greeted by my parents, my brother and Grandma. I was really tired, but still happy to see them. All I wanted was to get my bags, go home and sleep. But we ended up waiting a bit for our luggage but I got it and we headed home. When I got home, I didn't end up going straight to bed, I showed my family everything I bought and I gave them their gifts. I was pleased that the jersey I got for my brother fits. And then finally, I went to bed.

**Note** Since I've been home, the warmest it's been is 5 degrees. Spring definately cannot come soon enough (though it technically is spring).
