Jamie Bamber (born Jamie St.John Bamber Griffith) was born on April 3rd, 1973
in London, England (UK). His father, Ralph, is American and his mother, Elizabeth, is an Irish actress. He has 5 brothers
and one sister. He lived in France during his early childhood and attended a bilingual school before moving back to England.
According to a biography on "Jamie Bamber, this is your website", in 1996, Jamie went to the London Academy of Dramatic
Arts (LAMDA) where he completed a post graduate course. Before that he received a first Class Honours Degree in Modern Languages
(Italian and French) at St. Johns College, Cambridge University.
Jamie's first role almost immediately after leaving LAMDA was that of Archie
Kennedy in A&E's Horatio Hornblower.
Jamie likes horseback riding, rugby, golf, scuba diving, tennis and skiing,
but running is his main sport. In a questionnaire he answered, he mentoined that he also likes to spend some time in
bed. He apparently loves to dance and listen to rap-music.He lives in London, but he does spend some time in Los
Angeles.
He is currently dating actress Kerry Norton, whom he met on the set of "Devil's
Tattoo".
I first saw Jamie in 1999 in Hornblower. I was distracted by Horatio, but I still thought that Jamie was a very
good actor.
It wasn't until 2001 when HH2 came out and my friend Jill fell in love (like Jill with most celebs, twas only a temporary
crush) with Archie, that I decided to look him up on the net. That's when I had developed a firm appreciation for this
underappreciated actor.
