Day Five-- March 15th, 2004

Today we were up really early to go to the train station. Last night I had to rearrange my suitcase so I could fit all the stuff I bought. But I had to put my other jacket in Natal's suitcase because it wouldn't fit. We were at the train station at about 8am. We checked in and everything but it took a while. We left at 9:30 and arrived in Paris at 12 (1 o'clock Paris time). The Eurostar was nice. Very fast, but a fairly smooth ride surprisingly enough. I was quite happy because on the train, I finally got to listen to my "Moviestar" single. It's really amazing. The "Movistar" track sounds studio quality for a live track and the live  version of "Help Me (She's Out of Her Mind)" is a 10 minute long version and in incredibe. Mind blowing, even. Upon arriving in Paris, we got on our bus and drive to the hotel. I was left breathless with how beautiful the buildings were. We went to the hotel and dropped off our baggage and went on a walking tour. Apparently, our hotel was in a slightly sketchy (or "dodgy" as Carolyn would say) area of Paris, but it was still really cool. Me, Natal and Jill's room was again one of the larger rooms and was quite nice. Anyway, our walking tour took us on the Métro to Montmartre. The métro is definately a lot dodgier than the Tube in London. In Montmartre we saw Sacré Coeur, which is beautiful. From there we could see all across Paris. It was so cool. From there we went to a little square that was full of artists and stuff. We had our free time there. Me, Jill, Jess and Natal explored around there a bit and we got some ice cream. I got some lovely black and white pictures over there. There's one that I really hope turns out. We were on a side street away from the little square and there was an artist painting a picture of a house and he was right by a lampost and a wall with ivy on it and it was so perfect. From that square we met rejoined the group and walked down to the street where the Moulin Rouge was. I sadly didn't get the chance to go in as we then made our way on the métro to our restaurant. After supper we  went and saw the Eiffel Tower all lit up and it was really pretty. There was extra money in the slush fund we had through fundraising and so we all got to go up to the top of the tower. It was an incredibly view from there. The elevator on the way up made me quite nervous (since I hate glass elevators). Extremely tired, we waited at the our meeting point at the bottom of the tower for everyonr as we were s'posed to at 9:30pm. We ended up not leaving until 10:15 because Brendan and Lars were stuck on the elevator. Everyone was definately cranky because of this delay.
