St.Paul statue outside St.Paul's Cathedral |
Up at 7am, took shower, dressed and had breakfast at the hotel. We then left on a bus around town with a tour guide named
Richard. We passed a lot of stuff that we saw yesterday on the walking tour (which the other group didn't get to see) and
then went to St.Paul's Cathedral. It was gorgeous! We got to see Arthur Wellesly (the Duke of Wellington)'s grave and I almost
cried when we got to see Lord Nelson's. I almost got left behind at St.Paul's while I was in the giftshop buying a painting
for Grandma and a little model of the HMS Victory for myself. It was scary. I ran from the exit to the bus parking lot
and Carruthers and Madame Lang were heading back to come find me. Then we went to Buckingham Palace. We didn't go inside,
though. From then on, we had free time up until supper. Me, Jill, Natal and Jess took the Tube to Oxford Street and did
crazy power shopping. I bought the live single of "Moviestar" by the Stereophonics since I couldn't find a poster. We went
to Zara, Benetton, H&M and some other stores I can't remember. At Boots I bought some more film and I found black and
white film for Advantix cameras! So I bought it, obviously. But I'm saving it for Paris. I bought a Beckham/England football
jersey for Adam (my brother) at a stand outside H&M. Jill and I had Happy Meals from McDonald's. The fries tasted
pretty nasty, Jill and I have come to saying that they "tasted like ass" (we mean that metaphorically. We don't actually know
what a bum tastes like, geez people!). We then went to Covent Garden and to Mango, H&M and two show stores. At H&M,
I bought another shirt and a purse for 14 pounds! Friday, Natal had lost the ball to her lebret piercing (a piercing under
your lip, just above the chin) and today, by accident we found a piercing studio for her to buy a new one because on the way
to a show store, Jill was randomly handed a flyer for a tattoo and piercing place called "Tusk". So we practically ran
there, because we had to be at the restaurant soon. Natal got the ball and Jill bought a new nose ring. On the way to the
restaurant we stopped at a dance store for Jill to buy a new body suit.
**Note** Oh yeah, before we went to Covent Garden, we stopped at Westminster Abbey. We didn't go inside, but we took
pictures outside.
We went to this pub in Covent Garden for supper where we had burgers and a pasta salad. From there we had to book it
to the theatre. Jill, Mica, Mme Lang, two grade 10 girls and I went to see Les Mis at the Palace Theatre. It was really good.
There were definately some parts that we did better at my school last year, but on the whole, it was an excellent production.
Jon from S Club was Marius!! He was really good. During the curtain call, he kept looking directly at Jill and smiling
and this made Jill all giggly. But the guy that played Enjolras was so incredibly hot and I was constantly checking out his
bum. Quite firm, athletic and perfect, if I may say so meself. Jon's bum was a little chubby, like a bum you'd rather poke
that grab. Hahahahahahaah. During the final scene, the Enjolras dude kept looking directly at me (Oh yeah, we were sitting
in the front row!). On the Tube back to the hotel, we saw Carruthers and she told us how the people who didn't go to a musical
went to the Hard Rock Cafe and when they were there they did a vault tour and Natal was near hyperventilation because she
got to hold Jimmi Hendrix's guitar. We went to the internet cafe where I e-mailed Mom & Dad and back at the hotel, Natal
told us about holding the guitar.
**Note** In case you're wondering, Carruthers is my french teacher. And the Enjolras dude's name is Oliver Thornton and
guess what? He's Welsh! I swear to God, it's a sign that I need to go to Wales and marry and Welshman.
